Each year through ClubGRANTS, clubs across NSW provide support to tens of thousands of local community organisations, sporting groups, and charities that make a difference in their local area. With more than $1 billion in funding provided since the program’s inception, ClubGRANTS is without doubt one of the largest and most effective grants programs in Australia. The program is made possible through the support of NSW clubs, local councils and the NSW Government.

Supports community welfare and social services; community development; employment assistance activities; community health services; and projects aimed at improving the living standards of low income and disadvantaged people

Category 2

Provides funding for general community development and support activities, such as junior sport

COROWA RUTHERGLEN FOOTBALL NETBALL CLUB (CRFNC)

Club Corowa is thrilled to announce a game-changing partnership with the Corowa Rutherglen Football Netball Club (CRFNC) as the Major Sponsor for the upcoming 2024 season.

In addition to the sponsorship, Club Corowa has further demonstrated its dedication to community wellbeing by donating a fully equipped container kitchen to CRFNC.

This generous contribution aims to provide vital support during a challenging period when the club’s current facilities are unavailable for use.

KAHKI VEHICLE ENTHUSIASTS

Club Corowa recently provided $2,700 to the Khaki Vehicle Enthusiasts Inc (KVE) to support their 44th Annual Corowa Swim-In and Military Vehicle Gathering.

The funding assisted KVE with the Main St parade, held on March 16, as well as the costs for event caps.

KVE hold a military vehicle gathering annually in Corowa which is the largest in the southern hemisphere. Young and old celebrate a get together with people from all over Australia and some from overseas bringing more than 200 ex-military vehicles to the town. Part of the weeklong stay also includes a parade through Corowa, which is a highlight for the local community.

COROWA COUGARS RUGBY LEAGUE CLUB

Club Corowa are proud sponsors of the Corowa Cougars Rugby League Club for season 2024.

Corowa Cougars raffles are held every Saturday night in our main lounge. Tickets on sale from 5.30pm. Draw begins 8.00pm

WAHGUNYAH FOOTBALL NETBALL CLUB

The Wahgunyah Lions Football Netball Club has received a $2,000 grant from Club Corowa, aimed at improving the club’s lighting facilities.

The funding will go towards the club’s planned lighting infrastructure upgrade, addressing current deficiencies to create a safer and more enjoyable environment for all users.

The Wahgunyah Lions have been operating with inadequate lighting, impacting their ability to host evening activities and training effectively, particularly post-daylight savings.

The Lions also recently launched an All-Abilities program, which has garnered positive feedback for its inclusive approach and improved lighting will help with the program’s success during evening sessions.

WAHGUNYAH PROGRESS ASSOCIATION

Club Corowa has assisted the Wahgunyah Progress Association Incorporated (WPA) with the purchase of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) valued at $1,400.00

The AED is a publicly accessible defibrillator attached to the front wall of the petrol station/newsagency in Foord Street, Wahgunyah.

COROWA ANGLERS CLUB

Club Corowa has provided $1,500 to the Corowa Anglers Club for their Restock the Murray Charity Bowls Day.

The event, held on March saw 16 teams attend to win the Corowa Services Bowls Club trophy with all proceeds from the day going towards to purchasing Murray Cod and Golden Perch fingerlings to be released at various destinations along the Murray River within a 15km radius.

The Corowa Anglers Club was formed in 1982 by a group of keen fishermen. The club are keen advocates of catch and release fishing. By helping restock the Murray River with native fish the club play an integral role in ensuring there will continue to be native fish in the Murray River for generations to come. Since 1995. The Corowa Anglers Club has released 194,000 Murray Cod and 407,000 Yellowbelly fingerlings.

RUTHERGLEN CATS FOOTBALL NETBALL CLUB

Club Corowa is pleased to have presented the Rutherglen Cats Football Netball Club with a $5,035 grant to replace the netballers old metal scoreboard with an electronic LED system.

The old scoreboard, worn out from years of use, posed challenges for players and volunteers, and was often manned by younger players and exposed to the elements.

The new electronic system has streamlined operations, allowing timekeepers to manage scores from a sheltered area, freeing up volunteers for other tasks and ensuring children can enjoy the event hassle-free.

COROWA SPRING SHOW

Club Corowa has provided a $2,000 grant to the Corowa P A & H Society Inc in support of the Corowa Spring Show, a beloved annual community event since 1879.

The grant will enable the show committee to enhance the event experience by offering free entertainment to attendees, making it more accessible for all.

The Corowa Spring Show is scheduled for Sunday, October 13, 2024, and is an annual agricultural event that brings together local residents and visitors from afar to celebrate rural life and community spirit.

Featuring agricultural displays, competitions, entertainment, rides and family-friendly activities, the Show promises a day of enjoyment for all attendees.

LIONS CLUB COROWA

Club Corowa is delighted to contribute $5,000 to the Lions Club of Corowa for their ongoing Pioneer Cemetery upgrades.

The funding will go towards new facilities with the installation of a rotunda, seating, an upgrade to the walkways, and replacement of the front fencing, gateway, personnel gate for added security and information boards.

COROWA PARK RUN

Club Corowa contributed $5,000 to assist in bringing Park Run to Corowa.

The board of the Corowa Rutherglen Football Netball Club has instigated the community fundraising and signed up as the event director to bring parkrun to Corowa for our residents and tourists as an all abilities health initiative.

COROWA RESCUE SQUAD

Club Corowa has contributed Assistance with$2,500 towards the resupply 0f Emergency Equipment.

The additional equipment will assist the team to provide ongoing support to the community and and improve safety for both squad members and recipients.

AMARANTH FOUNDATION

Club Corowa is pleased to provide a generous $5,500 grant to the Corowa Food Bowl, supporting its vital role in the local community amidst rising living costs in Australia.

Established nearly five years ago, the Corowa Food Bowl has been a lifeline for the Federation Shire community, distributing nearly two tonnes of food weekly to residents in need.

Managed by Amaranth community coordinators, the Food Bowl not only provides essential supplies but also serves as a crucial support hub during times of crisis.

The grant will enable the Corowa Food Bowl to enhance its services, ensuring continued support for vulnerable community members.

COROWA MENS SHED

Club Corowa has made a significant investment in the Corowa Men’s Shed, offering a total of $60,000 to assist with their ongoing expansion project.

This support includes a $40,000 loan for the completion of the new shed on Honour Avenue and a further $20,000 as a pre-payment for future services.

The Corowa Men’s Shed (CMS) plays a vital role in the community by providing a meaningful purpose for men who are recently retired, disabled, lonely, or simply seeking engagement.

The new facility, currently under construction and nearing completion, will offer much-needed additional space and enhanced amenities. Planned features of the new shed include a meeting room, office space, kitchen facilities, a metalwork room, and outdoor storage.

Our Uniting Our Communities Flood Relief Concert Weekend was a huge success.

We were extremely proud to announce an additional $50,000 Uniting Our Community Flood Support Grant for individuals and local organisations who had been affected by recent floods.

Individual organisations were able to apply for grants up to $10,000, which could include contributions for clean-up efforts, replacement of equipment or simply to ensure a safe environment for those attending those places. 

The Corowa RSL Club Uniting Our Communities Flood Recovery Fund was created to assist in the path towards recovery. 

The impact that the floods have had on our community is significant and we hope this grant round provided some relief to those organisations impacted.

COROWA RSL CLUB $50,000 FLOOD RECOVERY FUND

We’re passionate about supporting our local community and wanted to extend a hand to those who have been affected by the recent floods.

Recognising the importance of backing our region and its people, Board Members and Senior Management have identified an immediate and critical need to step in and support the community that has supported us over many decades.

The Corowa RSL Club Flood Recovery Fund has been created to assist in the path towards recovery. As a local Club, we see our role as not only bringing people together, but being by your side in the most challenging of times.

The last three years have been challenging for many, and we have continued to give back where we can, feeding displaced families during the fires, providing meals to those in need during the toughest times of Covid.

It is our goals to ensure people can come back from these difficult periods. Individual organisations, local businesses, community and sporting groups can apply for grants up to $10,000 and includes contributions for clean-up efforts, replacement of equipment or simply to ensure a safe environment for those attending those places.

For this to be effective and have the greatest impact, we wanted to make funds available to organisations quickly and without hassle.

The following local community groups and sporting clubs affected by recent flooding have received a share in more than $60,000 thanks to the Corowa RSL Club’s Flood Recovery Fund -

Corowa Golf Club $10,000, Corowa Football Club $10,000, Corowa Cricket Club $9,000, Wahgunyah Speedway $6,960, Corowa Apex $10,000, Corowa Girl Guides & Wahgunyah Rowing Club $5,000.
